May - 2026 - From Pink Mess to Pawfect Success,

The Story of Our Sheep Street Transformation

When we first stepped through the doors of our future shop on Sheep Street, we’ll admit… it took a lot of imagination.

Bright pink walls. A tired interior. Old fittings. Worn flooring. And absolutely no sign of the warm, welcoming pet shop and professional grooming salon we had dreamed of creating.

But underneath the chaos, we saw potential.

And so began 15 days of absolute madness, hard work, late nights, sore backs, endless coffee… and one incredible transformation.

The very first step was the planning permission process. Exciting? Yes. Stressful? Also yes! Before we could even think about treats, toys, or grooming tables, there were forms, approvals, and plenty of waiting involved behind the scenes.

Once the paperwork was underway, the real fun started.

The pink interior had to go.

Walls were stripped back, the old pink fascia outside was removed, and suddenly we could finally start imagining the space becoming our own. Little by little, the vision for Polly’s Natural Nibbles and Bark and Bliss Professional Dog Grooming started coming to life.

Next came the building work.

A brand-new floor was installed, along with a partition wall to separate the pet shop from the grooming salon. Then came the electrics, plumbing, wall panels, lighting, and equipment installations. Every single day seemed to bring another challenge, another delivery, another trip to the DIY shop, and another late-night clean-up session.

Meanwhile, mountains of stock began arriving. Natural treats, toys, accessories, grooming equipment, shelving… boxes absolutely everywhere! At times it felt less like a shop conversion and more like organised chaos.

Finally came one of the biggest moments of all, he new outdoor signage being fitted.

Seeing the names Polly’s Natural Nibbles and Bark and Bliss Professional Dog Grooming proudly displayed outside the shop suddenly made everything feel real. After years of growing from a tiny country fair stall with just a handful of treats and a mobile dog grooming van, we now had our very own pet shop and grooming salon.

It’s hard to put into words how emotional that moment felt.

Fifteen intense days later, the transformation was complete.

From a bright pink mess to the perfect little pet shop and grooming salon, Sheep Street is finally ready to welcome doggies and their humans through the doors.

And honestly? We couldn’t be prouder.

GRAND OPENING – SATURDAY 16TH MAY

We would absolutely love for you to come and see what we’ve created. Whether you’re popping in for healthy natural treats, a browse around the shop, or to book your pup in for a pamper session with Bark and Bliss, you’ll always receive a warm welcome from our little family team.

Thank you to every single person who has supported us, encouraged us, shared our posts, bought from us, or simply believed in us along the way. This dream wouldn’t have happened without you.

Now… who’s bringing the first muddy paw prints through the door?
