From Family Garage to Treat Empire: The PNN Home Takeover
Running a small business from home sounds cute, doesn’t it?
You imagine:
A tidy little workspace
A laptop
Maybe a nice cup of tea
What you don’t imagine… is your entire house slowly being taken over by dog treats.
Welcome to life at Polly’s Natural Nibbles.
When “A Bit of Stock” Becomes… ALL the Stock
As PNN started growing (and we mean really growing), one small issue crept in…
Where on earth do we put everything?!
More events = more stock
Bigger events = a lot more stock
Online orders = surprise… EVEN MORE stock
Before we knew it, the garage had gone from:
“Family storage space”
to
“Full-scale dog treat warehouse with occasional sightings of a bicycle”
The Great Garage Situation
At one point, our garage contained:
Antlers, Rope Toys and Cow Trachea
Tools
Kids’ toys
And probably a missing sock or two
It was chaos.
Nothing says “professional dog treat business” quite like rummaging past a lawnmower to find a bag of rabbit ears.
Also… turns out “dry and sealed” is quite important when your business involves natural treats. Who knew?
Another “Great Idea”
Now, in PNN history, a “great idea” usually means one thing:
Someone suggests it
Someone else ends up building it
This time, the target was the old lean-to at the side of the house.
Previously described as:
“A space”
“Kind of sheltered”
“Definitely not waterproof”
Perfect, right?
Operation: Make It Legit
What started as a “quick fix” turned into…
A full-blown DIY project:
New roof
New walls
New door
Electrics installed
Probably a few arguments over measurements
And after a few weekends of hard graft (and a lot of “that’ll do”), we had it:
A proper, dry, secure stock room
Built by the PNN team
Powered mostly by determination and snacks
Plot Twist: Still Not Big Enough
Here’s the funny part…
We built more space.
Filled it.
And now… we need more space again.
It’s like the treats are multiplying when we’re not looking.
The Dream Is Getting Real
For years, we’ve talked about getting a shop.
You know… a proper space where:
Customers can visit
Products are displayed nicely
The garage can go back to being… a garage
And now?
It’s actually starting to feel real.
The Side Effects No One Talks About
Running PNN hasn’t just grown the business…
It’s changed our home.
The garage? Gone
The spare space? Gone
The “we’ll just keep a few boxes here”? Absolutely gone
Our house now proudly screams:
“These people definitely sell dog treats.”
And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Real Story
Behind every product, every event, every order…
There’s:
Late nights
Weekend builds
Family effort
And a home that’s been completely taken over by a dream
The PNN “empire” might have started small…
But it’s definitely not staying that way.
Next goal: Get the shop… and maybe (just maybe) get the garage back. From Family Garage to Treat Empire: The PNN Home Takeover
